Team Bio and Background
Patrick Warren, Managing Director
has worked in the shellfish industry since 1995. First selling equipment to hatcheries, then as a co-owner/operator of an oyster farm in British Columbia. Recognizing the potential of this market, and drawing on his background in sales, he incorporated Smokey Bay Seafood Company Ltd., a business dedicated to the branding, marketing and sales of both live and value-added shellfish. Since 2000 he has been instrumental in successful shellfish marketing initiatives on behalf of his clients, resulting in the continuous sale of millions of pounds of live, fresh and frozen shellfish items to North America, Asia and Europe.
Born, and raised Vancouver, Canada, Patrick has a B.A. in Geography from McGill University and a Master of Science from the London School of Economics in Natural Resource management. He has sat on several boards including a three year stint in municipal politics as an elected Park Commissioner. Patrick is currently on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance CAIA our national industry association for producers, processors and distributors. He resides in Vancouver with his wife and daughter.
